What are Adaptogens?
Adaptogens are natural substances that help the body's natural ability to adapt to occasional stress, support normal metabolic function, and help maintain systemic equilibrium.* They are unique from other substances and types of herbs as they support balanced endocrine hormones, and support the immune and nervous systems.* Adaptogens have a normalizing influence on the body, which means they support the body’s natural homeostasis, as well as the normal functioning of your physiological systems.*

SOME MUSHROOMS ARE ADAPTOGENS*
Some of our featured mushrooms, such as Reishi and Cordyceps, are considered adaptogens by herbalists, Traditional Chinese Herbalism practitioners, as well as researchers.*
Mushrooms can support whole system health, each in their own unique way.* Mushrooms can support the body’s natural resistance to occasional physical, biological, emotional, and environmental stressors.*
For example, Reishi is well known for supporting healthy hormone levels within normal ranges as well as the immune system.* Reishi has long been used to promote relaxation and support the body's natural stress response because of its nourishing and tonifying qualities.* Cordyceps is another adaptogenic mushroom.*
Many mushrooms multitask, offering adaptogenic support while maintaining homeostasis and supporting various other bodily systems.* We packed 10 super mushrooms into our Daily 10 Tincture, making these fantastic fungi bioavailable to your body to support the naturally super you.* We use 100% fruiting bodies — no mycelium grown on grain in our products.
MUSHROOMS CONTAIN PREBIOTIC FIBER*
Mushrooms are also prebiotics. They help support the health of the beneficial bacteria in your gut, which can support healthy immunity, mood, weight, hormonal balance, and potentially many other aspects of your well-being.* The research on the microbiome (the bacteria, yeast, and fungi on and in our body) is conclusive – these organisms are deeply connected to almost all aspects of our health, from cognition to digestion to supporting immunity*. That is why we want to befriend our gut and feed it food for life!
Diet and lifestyle play a huge role in maintaining the health of our microbiome and gut. Fiber found only in fruits and vegetables allow the beneficial bacteria to stay in balance, which can keep you healthy and balanced.*
Functional Foods for Life
Functional foods go beyond basic nutrition. We can add supplements like adaptogenic herbs and mushrooms into our basic dishes for added nutrients or support.*
